Little Creek Bar-B-Cue Company

   Smoke On The Water USA BBQ Championship was held on March 19 & 20 in North Little Rock, Ark. Teams started pulling in on Thurs the 18th and the last one was in on Friday evening. The weather was beautiful on Thursday and Friday and the rain held off on Saturday until the awards were announced. This was one of the best run contests we have ever been to , the park crews did an amazing job on the garbage and toilet facilities. Ronnie Cates and his "crew" were always available if there was a problem or a question needed to be answered.

   There were 228 teams competing in NLR from 43 states, Canada and Japan! The Best of the Best! Four of the teams from the Pitmasters BBQ show were on hand and some teams who have been competing for years....also some new teams tried their luck! Pellet Envy - 2009 Team Of The Year was also there .

 Awards were given to the top 40 teams in each category, and then to the top 5 teams overall. Reserve Grand Champion was Cool Smoke (Tuffy Stone from the PitMasters) - they received $8,000.      We were fortunate enough that Rich's parents were able to meet us when we competed in Mobile the weekend prior to Smoke On The Water. They were gracious enough to bring their RV so we were competing "in style" at both competitions!  Rich's brother Ron, his wife and their son Hayden joined us in Little Rock...Hayden is the youngest member of the Little Creek cook team...3 years old. Rich's mom sold her jewelry at both competitions and did quite well! I brought back some new items to sell at the restaurant....come on in and take a look!

  When we checked our score sheets and saw that we had placed 25th overall.....we were speechless! What an awesome experience!
